Our event will explore the evolution of female characters in video games, highlighting their traditional portrayal and recent progress towards more diverse and empowering representations.
Jan Andrš, the lecturer affiliated with the Centre for the Study of Popular Culture in Prague, will delve into current statistics and trends, illustrating how the video games industry is evolving.
Additionally, the session will discuss the most popular video games among female players and examine whether any games specifically target this demographic.
The talk is followed by a Q&A session. The event will be held in English.
