Uncut Interventions: Final Residency Event

Locally-Rooted Knowledge/ End-of-Residency Celebration

Join us to celebrate the ending of the residency program “Locally-rooted Knowledge: Art, Agriculture and Pedagogy” run in collaboration between Cairo Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CILAS), Dakatra Farm, and Esmat—Publishing List. Throughout the past three months Mariam Dahab, Felipe Dominguez Simonsen and Raphael Khouri have explored the intersection between pedagogy, art and agriculture to develop ongoing projects that deal with topics that range from seed saving, soil health, and mythologies around indiginous plants to imaginations of more-than-human worlds.

During this evening, you will get a chance to engage with the work of the three researchers and their experience during the residency as well as on the possibilities of locally-rooted knowledge on agriculture that centers the experiences of small family-run farms which aim to enact a regenerative form of agriculture.

This is meant to be a participatory event with input from you and the residents! To center that collaborative dynamic, we ask each of the attendees to please bring a few pieces of local fruit with them that we will cut together into a fruit salad that we will prepare and eat together.

Bring any seasonal fruit that you like!

After we make the fruit salad, we will have a chance to collectively annotate, contextualize and intervene on research material that includes writings, audio files and pictures. The research material presented has been put together by the residents as well as the three hosts to discuss other possibilities of relating to seeds, land and plants within the agricultural system and beyond.

تدخلات طازجة/ احتفال بمناسبة انتهاء برنامج الإقامة البحثية

انضموا لنا لكي نحتفل معا بانتهاء برنامج الإقامة البحثية «المعرفة المحلية، الممارسات الفنية والزراعة» الذي قام بتنظيمه بشكل مشترك مركز القاهرة للعلوم والآداب الحرة (سيلاس) ومزرعة الدكاترة وقائمة نشر «عصمت». خلال الثلاث شهور الماضية، استكشف رفاييل خوري وفيليبي دومنجز سيمونسين ومريم دهب التقاطعات ما بين التربية والممارسات الفنية والزراعة لكي يطوروا مشاريع مستمرة يعملون عليها منذ فترة وتتناول موضوعات تتراوح ما بين حفظ البذور وصحة التربة إلى اهتمام بالميثولوجيا التي تحيط ببعض النباتات الأصلية في مصر وتصورات لعالم لا يعتمد على مركزية الإنسان.

خلال هذه الاحتفالية، سوف يستعرض الثلاث باحثون مشاريعهم وخبرتهم خلال برنامج الاقامة املين في طرح نقاش حول إمكانية تطوير معرفة زراعية متجذرة محليا تتناول تجارب المزارع العائلية الصغيرة التي تسعى إلى ممارسة الزراعة المتجددة كونها تجارب قلما توضع محل دراسة.

هذا حدث تشاركي نسعى فيه إلى طرح مجالا لمشاركاتكم بجانب مشاركات الباحثين المقيمين. ولنؤكد على تلك الروح التشاركية، ندعوكم لإحضار بضع ثمرات من أي فاكهة موسمية لكي نجهز ونأكل معا سلطة فواكه ونتعرف على بعضنا البعض.

بعد تجهيز سلطة الفواكة، سوف نفتح المجال للتعليق والتدخل كتابيا على مواد بحثية أنتجها الباحثون والمبادرات التي استضافت الاقامة لكي نناقش إمكانيات أخرى لعلاقتنا بالبذور، والارض والنباتات داخل النظام الزراعي خصوصا و بشكل أوسع.

Unisciti a noi per celebrare la fine del programma di residenza “Conoscenza locale: arte, agricoltura e pedagogia” condotto in collaborazione tra Cairo Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CILAS), Dakatra Farm ed Esmat—Publishing List. Negli ultimi tre mesi Mariam Dahab, Felipe Dominguez Simonsen e Raphael Khouri hanno esplorato l’intersezione tra pedagogia, arte e agricoltura per sviluppare progetti in corso che trattano argomenti che vanno dal risparmio di semi, alla salute del suolo e alle mitologie attorno alle piante indigene fino all’immaginazione di più -di-mondi umani.

Durante questa serata, avrai l’opportunità di confrontarti con il lavoro dei tre ricercatori e la loro esperienza durante la residenza, nonché sulle possibilità di conoscenza radicata sul territorio sull’agricoltura che centra le esperienze di piccole aziende agricole a conduzione familiare che mirano a attuare una forma rigenerativa di agricoltura.

Questo vuole essere un evento partecipativo con il contributo di te e dei residenti! Per centrare questa dinamica collaborativa, chiediamo a ciascuno dei partecipanti di portare con sé alcuni pezzi di frutta locale che taglieremo insieme in una macedonia che prepareremo e mangeremo insieme.

Dopo aver preparato la macedonia, avremo la possibilità di annotare, contestualizzare e intervenire collettivamente sul materiale di ricerca che include scritti, file audio e immagini. Il materiale di ricerca presentato è stato messo insieme dai residenti e dai tre ospiti per discutere altre possibilità di relazionarsi con semi, terra e piante all’interno del sistema agricolo e oltre.
