As part of the “For Her, With Her” initiative, this seminar delves into the portrayal of women in media, critically analyzing the narratives that shape societal perceptions. Through engaging discussions, interactive showcases, and artistic performances, we explore how Egyptian pop culture reinforces gender stereotypes and contributes to the normalization of victim-blaming and violence.

This event serves as a platform for young people to challenge these portrayals, develop a conscious approach to media consumption, and reflect on their role in fostering change.

What to Expect:
 Exhibition & Showcase – Experience the creative works of participants who have engaged in analytic workshops on media representation.
 Panel Discussion – Industry experts and media analysts will unpack gender portrayals in Egyptian pop culture and their social impact.
 Screening & Q&A – Watch video projects by the Women in Cinema workshop participants, followed by an insightful discussion.
 Competition Awards – Celebrate outstanding contributions that challenge gender biases in media.
 Live Performance – a music performance with the very unique Shahira Kamal

 تحليل نقدي لتمثيلات الإعلام
استكشاف كيفية تصوير المرأة في الثقافة الشعبية المصرية للكشف عن القوالب النمطية والانحيازات المتكررة.

 استكشاف التأثيرات الثقافية والاجتماعية
دراسة كيف تؤثر السرديات الإعلامية على مواقف المجتمع، وتعزز الأدوار الجندرية التقليدية، وتساهم في تطبيع لوم الضحية والعنف.

 تعزيز استهلاك الإعلام بوعي
تزويد المشاركين باستراتيجيات لتحليل المحتوى الإعلامي نقديًا، مما يساعدهم على تطوير نهج أكثر وعيًا وإدراكًا عند التعامل مع وسائل الإعلام.

 تشجيع التأمل الشخصي
إلهام الحضور للتفكير في عاداتهم الخاصة باستهلاك الإعلام، وكيف تؤثر هذه الصور الإعلامية على تصوراتهم ومعتقداتهم.
