About the director: Jonathan Millet, born in Paris, studied philosophy before spending many years filming distant and inaccessible countries for image databases. He later directed three short films: Old Love Desert (2012), You Go Round in Circles in the Night and You Are Devoured by Fire (2015), and And Always We Will Walk (2016), which was nominated for the 2018 César Award. He also directed a medium-length film, La Veillée (2017), and a feature documentary, Ceuta, Sweet Prison (2014), which was released in cinemas after more than 60 festival selections. His films have been featured in festivals such as Clermont-Ferrand, Pantin, and Brest.

أثر الأشباح هو فيلم مستوحى من أحداث حقيقية، حيث يصطدم الماضي بالحاضر وتُستكشف موضوعات العدالة والخلاص. تدور أحداثه حول حميد المنضم إلى منظمة سرية تلاحق مسؤولين بالنظام السوري لارتكابهم جرائم ضد الإنسانية. تأخذه مهمته إلى فرنسا، حيث يتبع أثر جلاده الذي لم ير وجهه من قبل وعليه مواجهته.
عن المخرج: جوناثان ميليه مصور ومخرج فرنسي قام بإخراج عدة أفلام قصيرة ووثائقية منها فيلم ودائما سوف نسير الذي رُشح لجائزة سيزار لعام 2018، ويُعد أثر الأشباح هو أول فيلم روائي طويل له وقد افتتح قسم أسبوع النقاد في الدورة السابعة والسبعين من مهرجان كان السينمائي
