“From Mozart to Beethoven: Austria’s Legacy in the History of Classical Music”
Located in the heart of Europe, Austria is home to some of the world’s most revered composers. In this lecture, Austrian violinist and music expert Christoph Angerer will guide you through Austria’s classical music history, focusing on Vienna’s golden era, the Viennese Classical Period. Join us on a journey into the enchanting world of Mozart, Haydn, Schubert & Beethoven and let us travel through their lives, their music and their inspirations.

About Christoph Angerer: Christoph Angerer (*1966) is an Austrian violinist and an expert in the history of music with a special interest in the music of the 18th century. In 1982 he co-founded the ensemble ‘Concilium musicum Wien’. Since then it has given more than 2,300 concerts in 500 cities around the world. From 1985 to 1991, he was a substitute in the orchestra of the Vienna State Opera. Christoph Angerer taught viola d’amore at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna from 1993 to 2012.
