L e c t u r e ‘AI in Education: Challenges and Benefits’
Does artificial intelligence (AI) have the potential to transform education for the better? What are the challenges and risks, and what are the benefits? We are pleased to invite you to a talk by Austrian educator and digital literacy expert Alicia Bankhofer on Tuesday, 7 November 2023.
The talk will take the audience into the world of AI and ChatGPT to discover how these tools are impacting both higher education and the wider field of learning. It will introduce the basic concepts of AI, as well as the specific capabilities and limitations of ChatGPT and generative AI. The session will also highlight how these technologies can support personalised learning and assist with writing and editing tasks. The presentation will be followed by a 30-minute Q&A session with the audience.
A b o u t
Alicia Bankhofer teaches digital literacy in Vienna, Austria. She also trains teachers to develop digital literacy in all subjects. She specialises in mobile learning and game-based learning, focusing on developing communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking with learners in personalised learning scenarios. She is also the coordinator of the eLearning network “eEducation” for Vienna’s academic schools and gives workshops at national and regional educational conferences.
