Come tu mi vuoi di Susan Sontag
Come tu mi vuoi è un’opera teatrale di Luigi Pirandello,
scritta durante il suo esilio a Berlino, tra il luglio e il
novembre del 1929. La proiezione è ispirata a una vicenda
che in quegli anni appassionava l’opinione pubblica e la
divideva in due opposte fazioni: il caso Bruneri-Canella. Ci
sono molti punti di contatto, fra la storia realmente
accaduta e quella che sta al centro del dramma
pirandelliano: una persona che ha perduto la memoria di
sé; due esseri umani per una sola identità; un soggiorno
all’estero avvolto nelle nebbie dell’oblio; il
riconoscimento da parte dei familiari riuniti… Ma ci sono
anche alcune differenze: la prima, e la più visibile, è che in

l’identità, la verità e il ruolo che gli altri giocano nella costruzione della nostra percezione di
noi stessi.

As you desire me by Susan Sontag
A theatrical play by Luigi Pirandello written during his exile in Berlin between July and
November 1929. The play is inspired by an event that captivated public opinion at the time,
dividing it into two opposing factions: the Bruneri-Canella case. There are many similarities
between the actual event and the one at the center of Pirandello’s drama: a person who has
lost their memory; two human beings for a single identity; a residency abroad surrounded
by mystery; the recognition by family members… However, there are also some differences:
the most visible is that in “As you desire me,” the protagonist of the mystery is a woman.
