The stoic protagonist Beate (played by Lilith Stangenberg) travels to Albania on behalf of a dubious corporation called ‘Europa’. Behind her promising announcements to the communities regarding investments in better infrastructure, gender equality, and diversity, there is a hidden but calculated intention. A film about the promise of salvation from European investments in the Balkans, the capital interests of large global corporations, and the arrogance of Western investors towards cultural traditions and rural life.
