انها في أواخر الستينيات بتيرول – المنطقة الجبلية بغرب النمسا: من المفترض أن يتولى الشاب الياس ابن أكثر الفلاحين ثراءا بمنطقة زيليرتال شئون المزرعة الخاصة بوالديه. يشعر بضغط نفسي شديد ويري انه من الصعب عليه إتمام الدور المتوقع منه. وعندما دخل الشاب ذو الثامنة عشر ربيعا في نوبة اكتئاب بعد حادث تعرض له مع حبيبته أرسله والده الي مراعي ميرسينجروند بجبال الالب للنقاهة. وبدلا من العودة الي المدنية مع نهاية الصيف يفضل الياس العزلة في الجبال حيث يجد ما كان دائما ما يتوق اليه: الحرية غير المشروطة

“Above the World”
It is the end of the 1960s in Tyrol, the mountainous region in the west of Austria. Young Elias, son of the richest big farmer in the Zillertal, is supposed to take over his parents’ farm. The pressure on him is high and he finds it difficult to fulfil the role expected of him. When the 18-year-old falls into depression after an incident with his childhood sweetheart, his father sends him to the alpine pasture of Märzengrund to recover. Instead of returning to the valley and civilization at the end of the summer, Elias retreats even further into the solitude and wilderness of the mountains. Here, he finds what he has always longed for: unconditional freedom.
