BREAD For thousands of years, bread has been the most important food around the world. In Egypt, the colloquial name for bread, ‘eish’, even means ‘life’. Meanwhile, for many, bread has become more than simply nourishment: it is an expression of lifestyle choices, available in more varieties than ever before. But do we actually know what we are eating every day?
The Austrian documentary BREAD answers this question by taking us on an intriguing journey into the world of bread production today – from multinational companies and artificial additives in industrially produced bread, to artisanal bakers who are attempting to revive the traditional art of bread making – this film is a must-watch for all bread lovers.
