Learn about and experience Tahteeb, an art form and sport that dates all the way back to ancient Egypt.

The night begins with the 30 minute documentary El-Bab (The Door) directed by Abdel Fattah Kamal, followed by a riveting performance by the Medhat Fawzy Center for the Stick Arts, a folklore music & dance group from El-Minya part of El Warsha Theater Troupe. Tahteeb, or stick dancing was placed on UNESCO’s Intangible World Heritage List in 2017.

تعرف معنا على فن”التحطيب” وهو فن تقليدي والرياضة تعود اصولها إلى مصر القديمة. ستبدأ الأمسية بعرض فيلم وثائقي “الباب” للمخرج عبد الفتاح كمال ومدته ٣٠ دقيقة، ويليه عرض رائع للتحطيب من قبل مركز مدحت فوزي لفنون العصا من المنيا والتابع لفرقة الورشة المسرحية. تم إدراج التحطيب في قائمة اليونسكو للتراث الثقافي غير المادي عام ٢٠١٧

Scopri e sperimenta Tahteeb, una forma d’arte e uno sport che risale all’antico Egitto. La serata inizia con il documentario di 30 minuti El-Bab (The Door) diretto da Abdel Fattah Kamal, seguito da un’avvincente performance del Medhat Fawzy Center for the Stick Arts, un gruppo di musica e danza folcloristica di El-Minya parte di El Warsha Compagnia teatrale. Tahteeb, o stick dance, è stato inserito nella Lista del Patrimonio Mondiale immateriale dell’UNESCO nel 2017.
