في هذه الورشة التي يديرها صانع المسرحي البريطاني نيثان إليس، سيكتشف المشاركون أنواعـًا من الدراماتورجي التجريبية. وسوف يدور النقاش حول الشكل والمضمون وكيف تتشكل العلاقة بينهما وكيف يمكن استخدام الشكل كنقطة بداية للتفكير في النص.
سوف يقرأ المشاركون بعض النصوص ويناقشون بعض المسرحيات والأداء المسرحي والتفكير في أمثلة كثيرة موجودة حولنا قبل تطبيق الأساليب التي استخدمها هؤلاء الكتاب في تنفيذ أفكارهم.
الورشة مفتوحة لعشرة مشاركين، والمطلوب من المتقدمين هو الاهتمام بالكتابة .
وفي عام ٢٠٢٠، رُشحت مسرحيته “دقة عالية جدًا” لجائزة فيرتي بارجيت، وقد عُرضت في مسرح سوهو سنة ٢٠٢٢، وأخرجتها بلانش مكينتر، وحاليـًا ضمن مجموعة أعمال مسرحية في مسرح شتاتس تيأتر كاسل، سنة ٢٠٢٣ ويُخرجها مانون فروندر. نيثان إليس هو كاتب ومخرج مسرحي بريطاني، وقد حصل على شهادته في الأدب الإنجليزي من جامعة أوكسفورد وكان سفيرًا للباحثين المسرحيين في جامعة لندن وكان عضوًا لهيئة الكتاب الملكية خلال عامي ٢٠١٨-٢٠١٩ والتي كان يقودها كل من أليس بيرش وعلي مكدويل.
ومسرحية يوم شغل تُعرض حاليـًا في أكثر من دولة من بينها (أستراليا وألمانيا والبرازيل وإيطاليا وهولندا وكندا ومصر)، وقد ترجمت لست لغات.
وأول مسرحياته (لا أحد سيأتي لإنقاذك)، قد عرضت في مهرجان إنكومنج سنة ٢٠١٩ وعرضت على المستوى المحلي في بريطانيا.
ويشغل نيثان منصب المدير الفني لشركة سابجكت أوبجت للمسرح، وشريك إبداعي في دار نوتنجهام المسرحي.
Since 2012, Orient Productions has been organizing the annual Downtown Contemporary Arts Festival (D-CAF), the largest international, multidisciplinary arts festival in Egypt. In this workshop led by British theatre maker Nathan Ellis, participants will explore experimental dramaturgies. The discussion will tackle form and content, how the two relate, and how to use form as a starting point in thinking about one’s texts. Participants will do some reading together, discuss plays and theatricality, and will think about several existing examples before applying the techniques that these playwrights have used onto their own ideas.
The workshop is open to ten participants, and the only requirement for participation is an interest in writing and directing theatre.
Nathan Ellis is a British writer-director. He holds a first-class degree in English Literature from the University of Oxford and was the Embassy Scholar in Playwriting at the University of London. He was a member of the Royal Court Invitation Writers’ Supergroup 2018-19, led by Alice Birch and Ali Mcdowall. In 2020, his play SUPER HIGH RESOLUTION, was shortlisted for the Verity Bargate Award. It was performed at the Soho Theatre in 2022, directed by Blanche McIntyre, and is currently in the repertoire at Staatstheater Kassel in 2023 directed by Manon Pfrunder. His play work.txt is currently on international tour (Australia, Germany, Brazil, Italy, the Netherlands, Canada, Egypt) and has been translated into six languages. His first play, NO ONE IS COMING TO SAVE YOU, was invited to Incoming Festival 2019 and toured nationally. He is the Artistic Director of theatre company SUBJECT OBJECT and is a Creative Associate of the Nottingham Playhouse.
