Eco-Friendly Architecture| Different Climates, a Common Approach

October 21, 2023 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

For more than a hundred years, a wave of concrete has been engulfing the globe, inundating places of different climates and cultures with nearly identical buildings. Can there be alternatives? How can materials that respect our environment be used in building the architectural spaces that shape our daily lives?
Join the presentation at the MASQ and learn from practitioners about using eco-friendly natural materials in architecture. Our guests will present their experience in using such materials in their projects, and explain why they believe that it is important to re-examine what materials are used in the building industry and for what reasons.
ARCHiNOS Architecture is hosting this talk on Sunday, 22 October at 5:30 PM at the Maq‘ad of Sultan Qaitbey (MASQ). We are honoured to host Anna Karlsdóttir and Jan Dobrowolski, the founders of “Lúdika” a young architectural design studio based in Reykjavík, Iceland, as well as Ramses Nosshi, the co-founder of MADA Architects, a Cairo-based architectural studio focusing on innovative methods of using local and natural materials to create contemporary spaces that are environmentally conscious and well-adapted contextually. The discussion will be moderated by Agnieszka Dobrowolska, the director of ARCHiNOS Architecture and the lecture will be in English language only.
Please join us and enjoy the afternoon!
