Book presentation “La mia tela yemenita”

Il 29 aprile alle 18.00, presso l’Istituto Italiano di Cultura al Cairo, si terrà la presentazione del libro “La mia tela yemenita”, curato da Rosangela Barone e Alfredo Guillet e pubblicato dall’ISMEO con il contributo della Farnesina.
L’autore, Amedeo Guillet, ex ufficiale del regio esercito e Ambasciatore italiano in Medio Oriente, Africa e Asia, tratta del significativo ruolo giocato dalla diplomazia italiana in Medio Oriente nel quadro della Guerra Fredda.
Oltre al Prof. Alfredo Guillet, curatore del volume, interverranno personalità del mondo accademico e diplomatico che tracceranno un profilo di Amedeo Guillet dal punto di vista militare e storico-diplomatico.
In seguito alla presentazione, verrà proiettato un documentario sulla vita di Alfredo Guillet, seguito da un dibattito interattivo con il pubblico e infine un rinfresco.

يتشرف يتشرف المعهد الثقافي الإيطالي بالقاهرة باستضافة ، يوم 29 أبريل في تمام الساعة السادسة مساءً، تقديم كتاب “La mia tela yemenita”. الكتاب من إعداد روزانجيلا باروني وألفريدو جيليه، وقام بنشره معهد “ISMEO” بمساهمة من وزارة الخارجية والتعاون الدولي الإيطالية.

يتناول المؤلف، أميديو جيليه، وهو ضابط سابق في الجيش الملكي وسفير إيطاليا في الشرق الأوسط وأفريقيا وآسيا، الدور الهام الذي لعبته الدبلوماسية الإيطالية في الشرق الأوسط خلال الحرب الباردة.

بالإضافة إلى البروفيسور ألفريدو جيليه، محرر الكتاب، والذي سيناقش الكتاب مع مجموعة من الشخصيات المميزة من العالم الأكاديمي والدبلوماسي ، والتي ستقدم نبذة عن أميديو جيليت من وجهة نظر عسكرية وتاريخية دبلوماسية.

يعقب تقديم الكتاب عرض فيلم وثائقي عن حياة ألفريدو جيليه، يليه نقاش تفاعلي مع الجمهور.

On April 26th at 6:00 PM, the Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo will host the presentation of the book “La mia tela yemenita,” edited by Rosangela Barone and Alfredo Guillet and published by ISMEO with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The author, Amedeo Guillet, a former officer of the Royal Army and Italian Ambassador in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, explores the significant role played by Italian diplomacy in the Middle East during the Cold War.
In addition to Professor Alfredo Guillet, editor of the volume, personalities from the academic and diplomatic world will speak and outline a profile of Amadeo from a military and historical-diplomatic point of view.
Following the presentation, a documentary about the life of Alfredo Guillet will be screened, followed by an interactive debate with the audience and a reception.
