A meeting with the Libyan writer Muhammad Al-Naas and a discussion and signature of his novel “Bread on the Table of Uncle Milad” – winner of the “Arab Booker” 2022

In partnership with Dar Safsafa Publishing, the French Institute in Alexandria will host the Libyan writer Mohamed Al-Naas to discuss the novel “Bread on the Table of Uncle Milad” published by “Dar Resham for Publishing and Distribution” in 2021 and the winner of the fifteenth session of the International Prize for Arabic Fiction “Arab Booker” for the year 2022 .

The events of the novel take place in Libya. In the closed village society, where he presents, through the character of Milad, a deep critique of the prevailing perceptions of masculinity and femininity, and condemns the ready-made stereotypes that limit the functions of both women and men to specific frameworks, and what follows from their psychological and social impact on the inheritances in modern Arab society in terms of dependencies Intellectual and moral such as the dialectic of love and betrayal, the brotherhood relationship, the inferior view of women, facing the environment and the challenges of poverty… It is the narrative of victory for the individual in the face of murderous collective ideas, it is the narrative of victory for the human experience against all fixed descriptions.

Muhammad al-Naas is a Libyan writer. Born in 1991, he holds a BA in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tripoli. He released “Blue Blood” a collection of short stories in 2020. “Bread on Uncle Milad’s Table” (2021) is his first novel.

A critical reading of the novel is presented by writers Amani Khalil and Mustafa Zaki.

بالشراكة مع “دار صفصافة للنشر” يستضيف المعهد الفرنسي بالإسكندرية، الكاتب الليبي محمد النعاس لمناقشة رواية “خبز على طاولة الخال ميلاد” الصادرة عن «دار رشم للنشر والتوزيع” في 2021 والفائزة بالدورة الخامسة عشرة من الجائزة العالمية للرواية العربية “البوكر العربية” لعام 2022.

تدور أحداث الرواية في ليبيا. في مجتمع القرية المنغلق حيث تقدم، من خلال شخصية ميلاد، نقدا عميقا للتصورات السائدة عن الرجولة والأنوثة، وتُدين القوالب النمطية الجاهزة التي تحصر وظائف كل من المرأة والرجل في أطر مُحددة وما يلي ذلك من تأثيرهما النفسي والاجتماعي على المتوارثات في المجتمع العربي الحديث من حيث التبعيات الفكرية والأخلاقية كجدلية الحب والخيانة، وعلاقة الأخوّة، والنظرة الدونية للمرأة، ومواجهة البيئة وتحديات الفقر… إنها رواية الانتصار للفرد في وجه الأفكار الجماعية القاتلة، إنها رواية الانتصار للتجربة الإنسانية إزاء كل التوصيفات الثابتة .

محمد النعّاس كاتب ليبي. ولد في 1991، حاصل على بكالوريوس الهندسة الكهربائية من جامعة طرابلس. صدر له “دم أزرق” مجموعة قصصية في عام 2020. و”خبز على طاولة الخال ميلاد” (2021) هي روايته الأولى.

    Incontro con lo scrittore libico Muhammad Al-Naas e discussione e firma del suo romanzo “Il pane sulla tavola dello zio Milad” – vincitore del premio “Arab Booker” 2022

In collaborazione con Dar Safsafa Publishing, l’Istituto francese di Alessandria ospiterà lo scrittore libico Mohamed Al-Naas per discutere del romanzo “Il pane sulla tavola dello zio Milad” edito da “Dar Resham for Publishing and Distribution” nel 2021 e vincitore di la quindicesima sessione del Premio Internazionale per la Narrativa Araba “Arab Booker” per l’anno 2022 .

Gli eventi del romanzo si svolgono in Libia. Nella società del villaggio chiuso, dove presenta, attraverso il personaggio di Milad, una profonda critica alle percezioni prevalenti della mascolinità e della femminilità, e condanna gli stereotipi preconfezionati che limitano le funzioni sia delle donne che degli uomini a strutture specifiche, e ciò che deriva dal loro impatto psicologico e sociale sulle eredità nella società araba moderna in termini di dipendenze intellettuali e morali come la dialettica dell’amore e del tradimento, il rapporto di fratellanza, la visione inferiore delle donne, l’affrontare l’ambiente e le sfide della povertà.. È il racconto della vittoria dell’individuo di fronte a idee collettive assassine, è il racconto della vittoria dell’esperienza umana contro tutte le descrizioni fisse.

Muhammad al-Naas è uno scrittore libico. Nato nel 1991, è laureato in Ingegneria Elettrica presso l’Università di Tripoli. Ha pubblicato “Blue Blood”, una raccolta di racconti nel 2020. “Bread on Uncle Milad’s Table” (2021) è il suo primo romanzo.

Una lettura critica del romanzo è presentata dagli scrittori Amani Khalil e Mustafa Zaki.
