دي*سينك ۱۸: استحضار الغياب

This version of D*Sync opens a dialogue with the works presented as part of the “Evoke Absence” project currently at the Center for Contemporary Image. In these films and videos, public events such as the invasion and war intersect with female directors and producers’ feelings of loss, alienation and alienation. This alienation increases the value of the answers, family photos, and grandmothers’ cloths, which are now more than bearers of remembrance and are closer to a homeland in exile. The value of memory carriers emerges when human memory fades, whether due to disease or distance and the passage of time.

Films also comment on the relationship of the film medium to memory through the parallelism of the film archive and the personal photographic archive. Films engage with the personal archive to tell stories that transcend individuals and use the public archive to create a personal context around them. The films on the program partner with artworks in the Evoking Absence exhibition to investigate how images and objects contain heavy feelings such as alienation, nostalgia, and loss.

This show comes as one of the activities of the program accompanying our exhibition “Evoking Absence” which will continue until the end of July. After the show, we are pleased to host Dana Anani and Iman Magdy to discuss the ideas and experiences that led to the artistic choices present in the films shown.

D*Sync” – an evening series dedicated to film, video and motion picture which we hope will be more open. Through the presentations, we seek to discuss together the works of artists and film makers who love experimenting with sound and image. D*Sink deals in particular with works that carry some aspect of aesthetic, narrative, or conceptual experimentation, or that attempt to find different ways of working together. We are also interested in the history of movie clubs and alternative ways to gather around films. تفتح هذه النسخة من «دي*سينك» حوارًا مع الأعمال المعروضة كجزء من مشروع «استحضار الغياب» القائم حاليًا في مركز الصورة المعاصرة . في هذه الأفلام والفيديوهات تتقاطع الأحداث العامة مثل الغزو والحرب مع مشاعر المخرجات ومنتجات الأعمال بالفقد والانعزال والغربة. تزيد تلك الغربة من قيمة الجوابات والصور العائلية وأقمشة الجدات والتي أصبحت الآن أكثر من حوامل للذكرى وأقرب إلى وطن في الغربة. تبرز قيمة حوامل الذكريات عندما تخفت ذاكرة البشر سواء بفعل المرض أو البعد وانقضاء الزمن.

تعلق الأفلام أيضًا على علاقة الوسيط السينمائي بالذاكرة عبر توازي الأرشيف السينمائي والأرشيف الشخصي المصور . تتعامل الأفلام مع الأرشيف الشخصي لسرد حكايات تتخطى الأفراد كما تستخدم الأرشيف العام لخلق سياق شخصي حولها. تشترك الأفلام في البرنامج مع الأعمال الفنية في معرض استحضار الغياب في استقصاء كيف تكتنز الصور والأغراض مشاعر ثقيلة مثل الاغتراب والحنين والفقد.

يأتي هذا العرض كإحدى فعاليات البرنامج المصاحب لمعرضنا «استحضار الغياب» المستمر حتى آخر شهر يوليو. يسعدنا أن نستضيف بعد العرض دانا عناني وإيمان مجدي للنقاش حول الأفكار والتجارب التي أفضت إلى الاختيارات الفنية الحاضرة في الأفلام المعروضة.

«دي*سينك» – سلسلة أمسيات مخصصة للأفلام والفيديو والصورة المتحركة والتي نأمل أن تكون أكثر انفتاحًا. نسعى من خلال العروض ان نناقش سويا أعمال فنانين/ات وصانعين/ات أفلام من محبي/ات التجريب بالصوت والصورة. يتناول «دي*سينك» بشكل خاص الأعمال التي تحمل جانبًا ما من التجريب الجمالي أو السردي أو المفاهيمي أو التي تحاول إيجاد طرق مختلفة للعمل سويًا. كما نهتم بتاريخ نوادي السينما والطرق البديلة للتجمع حول الأفلام. لمن ي/ترغب في عرض أعماله/ا ضمن عروض «دي*سينك» الشهرية بإمكانكم/ن إحضارها لمقر مركز الصورة المعاصرة أو إرسالها إلى البريد الإلكتروني

Questa versione di D*Sync apre un dialogo con i lavori presentati nell’ambito del progetto “Evoke Absence” attualmente al Center for Contemporary Image. In questi film e video, eventi pubblici come l’invasione e la guerra si intersecano con i sentimenti di perdita, alienazione e alienazione delle registe e delle produttrici. Questa alienazione accresce il valore delle risposte, delle foto di famiglia e dei panni delle nonne, che ormai sono più che portatori di ricordi e sono più vicini a una patria in esilio. Il valore dei portatori di memoria emerge quando la memoria umana svanisce, sia a causa della malattia che della distanza e del passare del tempo.

I film commentano anche il rapporto tra il mezzo cinematografico e la memoria attraverso il parallelismo tra la cineteca e l’archivio fotografico personale. I film interagiscono con l’archivio personale per raccontare storie che trascendono gli individui e utilizzano l’archivio pubblico per creare un contesto personale intorno a loro. I film in programma collaborano con le opere d’arte della mostra Evoking Absence per indagare su come immagini e oggetti contengano sentimenti pesanti come alienazione, nostalgia e perdita.

Questa mostra rientra tra le attività del programma che accompagna la nostra mostra “Evoking Absence” che proseguirà fino alla fine di luglio. Dopo lo spettacolo, abbiamo il piacere di ospitare Dana Anani e Iman Magdy per discutere le idee e le esperienze che hanno portato alle scelte artistiche presenti nei film proiettati.

D*Sync” – una serie serale dedicata a film, video e film che speriamo sia più aperta. Attraverso le presentazioni, cerchiamo di discutere insieme le opere di artisti e registi che amano sperimentare con il suono e l’immagine. D*Sink si occupa in particolare di opere che portano qualche aspetto di sperimentazione estetica, narrativa o concettuale, o che tentano di trovare modi diversi di lavorare insieme. Siamo anche interessati alla storia dei club cinematografici e ai modi alternativi di riunirsi attorno ai film.
