For centuries, the whirling Sufi Mawlawiya ceremony was the exclusive domain of men, until brave young women began breaking social barriers and adding a fresh feminine perspective to this captivating tradition. In this exceptional performance, these talented women will mesmerize you with an authentic display of Mawlawaiya dance, showcasing the strength and beauty of our heritage in a refined and artistic manner. Accompanying the performance will be free nay improvisations by the talented musician Mo’men Mustafa.

This event is part of the Ramadan in Qaitbay – Evenings of Art and Heritage series, which features a guided exhibition visit, a Tanoura performance, live music, and a handicraft bazaar. The programme runs from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM at MASQ.
