Film Workshop: The Art of Documentary Filmmaking
We are pleased to announce a 2-day workshop on documentary filmmaking with the renowned Austrian film director & screenwriter Sabine Derflinger. Young professionals and advanced students will have the opportunity to explore different artistic approaches and refine their skills in an intensive online training.

Workshop Day 1: How to make a biographical documentary (finding the right character for your film; writing your synopsis to convince producers and to raise money; about the shooting process; using archive footage; editing; how to promote and distribute your film)
Workshop Day 2: Applying skills of fiction filmmaking to documentaries
Where: online via Zoom (login details will be provided upon confirmation of registration)

A b o u t S a b i n e D e r f l i n g e r
Sabine Derflinger (*1963) is an Austrian film director, screenwriter, producer and dramaturgy consultant. She has directed and produced numerous award-winning feature documentaries and feature films (e.g. One out of 8, Johanna Dohnal – Visionary of Feminism, Step on it, Easy Money, 42plus, Day and Night, Twilight over Burma). Sabine Derflinger studied at the Vienna Film Academy (specialising in screenwriting and dramaturgy). She lives and works in Vienna.
