Un film toccante, uno dei più straordinari e originali di Martone. C’è la vicenda familiare di Leopardi, l’affetto per i fratelli, l’algido rapporto con la madre e il conflitto amoroso col padre Monaldo. C’è la parabola di un’anima che tanto più si libera e giganteggia, quanto più il corpo si rattrappisce fino a diventare minuscolo.
