Endangered Species | مخلوقات في طور الإنقراض

“How many species populated the Earth long before humans ever did? Which ones will continue to roam its surface for centuries to come and which ones will face extinction in our lifetimes?” These are the questions which award-winning Danish animator Sara Koppel’s hopes to answer in her exhibition “Endangered Species”

Are you ready for a new interactive Augmented Reality exhibition spread across Downtown Cairo? Keep an eye out for painted butterflies as you walk by the historic buildings alongside our performance spaces  Sara Koppel wonders “What creatures will succeed humanity, if any at all?” and in her exhibition, she gives us a chance to reflect on the future of humanity and the role we have to play in the limited time that we have.

For Downtown connoisseurs, try to find the ten butterflies scattered across some of the area’s most iconic buildings using the clues below. Next to each butterfly, you’ll find information on one of the endangered species featured in Sara Koppel’s captivating video:

1. Our first clue is for a building containing three butterflies; one in each of the three entrances to this red brick building overlooking Abdelkhalik Tharwat, Adly, and Mohamed Farid streets.
2. 2. Find the next painting in a famous passageway that was home to the first Kodak studio in the region.
3. 3.Close to the last building, you just might be lucky to find one of the butterflies on this building’s exterior which is known as “Gharib-Morcos”.
4. 4. The fourth clue is for a 100-year-old unique building overlooking Abdelkhalik Tharwat St., with a name that translates to “unique”.
5. 5. The fifth venue is the performing arts space closest to D-CAF’s heart.
6. 6. A few steps away, another butterfly sits outside a factory that does not produce anything tangible.
7. 7. Three floors and three facades, our next clue leads to an alleyway next to what once was an iconic hotel on Champollion street.
8. 8. You’ll find the final location if you follow the footsteps of Egypt’s favorite snarky puppet, and find its neon signs. This complex revolutionized film-watching in Cairo back in the day.

“كم عدد المخلوقات التي كانت تسكن الأرض قبل فترة طويلة من أن يسكنها البشر؟ أي منها سيستمر في التجول على سطحها لقرون قادمة وأي منها سيواجه الانقراض في خلال حياتنا؟” هذه هي الأسئلة التي تبحث عن إجابتها سارة كوبيل فنانة الرسم المتحرك الدنماركية الحائزة على جوائز.

جاهزين لمعرض تفاعلي جديد يستخدم تكنولوجيا الواقع المعزز؟ ترقبوا الفراشات المنتشرة بجوار عمارات وسط البلد التاريخية و مساحاتنا الفنية  تتساءل الفنانة سارة كوبيل: “ما هي المخلوقات التي ستخلف البشرية، إن وجدت؟”، و في معرضها تعطينا الفرصة أن نفكر بجدية في مستقبل البشرية و دورنا على الأرض في وقتنا المحدود.

بالنسبة لخبراء وسط القاهرة، حاول العثور على الفراشات العشر المنتشرة في بعض المباني الأكثر شهرة في المنطقة باستخدام الأدلة أدناه. بجانب كل فراشة، ستجد معلومات عن أحد الفصائل طور الانقراض التي ظهرت في فيديو سارة كوبيل الآسر:

١-الدليل الأول لدينا هو مبنى يحتوي على ثلاث فراشات؛ واحد في كل من المداخل الثلاثة لهذا المبنى من الطوب الأحمر الذي يطل على شوارع عبد الخالق ثروت عدلي ومحمد فريد

٢- اعثر على اللوحة التالية في ممر شهير كان موطنًا لأول ستوديو كوداك في المنطقة

٣- بالقرب من المبنى الأخير، قد تكون محظوظًا للعثور على إحدى الفراشات على السطح الخارجي لهذا المبنى والمعروف باسم “غريب مرقص

٤- الدليل الرابع هو مبنى فريد ومعروف ب“فريدة” عمره ١٠٠ عام يطل على شارع عبد الخالق ثروت

٥-المكان الخامس هو ساحة فنون الأداء الأقرب إلى قلب “دي-كاف

٦- على بعد خطوات، هناك فراشة أخرى بجانب مصنع لا ينتج شيئاً مادياً

٧-ثلاثة طوابق وثلاثة واجهات، دليلنا التالي يؤدي إلى ممر بجوار ما كان ذات مرة فندقًا شهيرًا في شارع شامبليون.

٨- ستجد الموقع النهائي إذا اتبعت خطوات الدمية المصرية الساخرة المفضلة، وعثرت على علامات النيون الخاصة بالمبنى. هذا المجمع غير منظومة مشاهدة الأفلام في القاهرة في الماضي.

“Quante specie hanno popolato la Terra molto prima che lo facessero gli umani? Quali continueranno a vagare sulla sua superficie nei secoli a venire e quali andranno incontro all’estinzione nelle nostre vite?” Queste sono le domande a cui la pluripremiata animatrice danese Sara Koppel spera di rispondere nella sua mostra “Endangered Species”

Sei pronto per una nuova mostra interattiva in Realtà Aumentata diffusa nel centro del Cairo? Tieni d’occhio le farfalle dipinte mentre cammini accanto agli edifici storici accanto ai nostri spazi per spettacoli. Sara Koppel si chiede: “Quali creature succederanno all’umanità, se non ce ne sono affatto?” e nella sua mostra, ci offre la possibilità di riflettere sul futuro dell’umanità e sul ruolo che dobbiamo svolgere nel tempo limitato che abbiamo.

Per gli intenditori di Downtown, prova a trovare le dieci farfalle sparse in alcuni degli edifici più iconici della zona usando gli indizi di seguito. Accanto a ciascuna farfalla, troverai informazioni su una delle specie in via di estinzione presenti nell’accattivante video di Sara Koppel:

1. Il nostro primo indizio è per un edificio contenente tre farfalle; uno in ciascuno dei tre ingressi di questo edificio in mattoni rossi che si affaccia sulle strade di Abdelkhalik Tharwat, Adly e Mohamed Farid.
2. Trova il prossimo dipinto in un famoso passaggio che ospitava il primo studio Kodak nella regione.
3. Vicino all’ultimo edificio, potresti essere fortunato a trovare una delle farfalle all’esterno di questo edificio, noto come “Gharib-Morcos”.
4. Il quarto indizio è per un edificio unico di 100 anni che si affaccia su Abdelkhalik Tharwat St., con un nome che si traduce in “unico”.
5. La quinta sede è lo spazio per le arti dello spettacolo più vicino al cuore di D-CAF.
6. A pochi passi, un’altra farfalla siede fuori da una fabbrica che non produce nulla di tangibile.
7. Tre piani e tre facciate, il nostro prossimo indizio porta a un vicolo accanto a quello che un tempo era un hotel iconico in Champollion Street.
8. Troverai la posizione finale se segui le orme del burattino sarcastico preferito dell’Egitto e trovi le sue insegne al neon. Questo complesso ha rivoluzionato la visione di film al Cairo in passato.
